TWD: Chewy, Chunky Blondies

Nicole of Cookies on Friday picked Chewy, Chunky Blondies for this week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe.

What's a chewy, chunky blondie, you ask? Imagine a chocolate cookie dough with heaping piles of coconut, chopped pecans, and toffee bits thrown in and baked in bar form. Yeah, um, it was pretty much a given that these would be awesome. I loved them, the folks at the cook-out I took them to loved them.

All in all, these blondies were a grand-slam home run, I'd say.

The only issue I ran into with these lovelies is that they seemed underbaked, even with 15-20 minutes extra time in the oven. But that wasn't a problem, they were still fantastic.

Thanks Nicole for a great pick! You can stop by Nicole's blog if you'd like to see the recipe. Or, of course, getting ahold of a copy of Dorie Greenspan's book "Baking, From my Home to Yours" is an option too.

OK, see you a little later on today with my Daring Baker's post. (So much baking, so little time.)

This recipe has been a favorite for quite a while in our house. They are such a fantastic flavor combo. My mouth is watering just thinking of those blondies!

Yours do look deliciously gooey in the centre. I wish I had some left.

Wow...those look good! I shared mine at a picnic, too. Everyone loved them, but what's not to love, right?

Yours look so wonderful.

I ended up having to bake mine for an extra 15 minutes too.

Yeppers, I had to cook mine a little extra too. Then I was afraid they were getting too brown, but they turned out good. Yours look delicious!

I want one for breakfast--I have some in the freezer. Could happen.

I love these blondies! I stashed some in the freezer. I thought it would be safer otherwise I'd eat them all!

An hour or two in the fridge makes these cut perfectly. If you want them soft and gooey, just nuke or put them in the oven for a few minutes after they are sliced.
Yours look perfectly gooey to me!

But my clothes appreciate the fact that I didn't.

Your blondies look delicious. Not sure about the baking time variations. I only had to keep mine in about 4 minutes longer.

Mine were a tad soft in the middle too, but they were more baked than the batter I ate before I put them in the oven. (Did I say that outloud?) :)

I thought these were a homerun, too. I knew I would like them, but I had no idea they would be so popular. Thanks for baking along with me this week.
