Mike of
Living Out West chose Toasted Almond Scones for this week's
Tuesdays with Dorie recipe.
Wow, I really can't say enough about these scones. They were easy to make, they were soooo light and fluffy and they rose nicely. The taste was delicious(although I did add another couple tablespoons of sugar) and the toasted almonds added a nice crunch.
I will definitely make these again. Next time I'd love to try some dried cherries.
Thanks so much to Mike for a great pick and Dorie for a great recipe. If you'd like to see the recipe you can visit Mike's blog (link above) or Dorie Greenspan's book "Baking, From my Home to Yours".
Your scones look just like mine! We loved them and will definitely make them again.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I added more sugar to the flour as well - forgetting about the sugar in the nuts. But they weren't too sweet at all. So glad you enjoyed them and glad you baked along with me this week - they look wondeful!
ReplyDeleteI also added a little more sugar and almond extract. They were delish. Dried fruit would be great.
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect and yours are SO perfect! Im glad you loved them as much as I did! They are so good and the dough was so easy to work with! Another TWD winner..Yeah Dorie!!
ReplyDeleteWow, your scones look so pretty and so yummie...I never made scone, maybe it is time to try :-)
ReplyDeleteYour scones look so great! I liked these a lot too, and adding dried fruit sounds like a good idea.

ReplyDeletei was on the fence about adding more sugar, i'll try that next time! beautiful scones
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to see that my scones look like a lot of others since I made a bunch of healthier adaptations. These were good, I agree!
